ABS resin is one of the five major synthetic resins. It has excellent impact resistance, heat resistance, low temperature resistance, chemical resistance and electrical properties. It also has the characteristics of easy processing, stable product dimensions, good surface gloss, etc., and it is easy to paint , Coloring, it can also be used for secondary processing such as surface metal spraying, electroplating, welding, hot pressing and bonding. It is widely used in machinery, automobiles, electronic appliances, instrumentation, textiles and construction and other industrial fields. Wide range of thermoplastic engineering plastics.

Plastic ABS resin is a polymer with a large output and a wide range of applications. It organically unifies the various properties of PB, PAN and PS, and has excellent mechanical properties of toughness, rigidity and rigidity. ABS is a terpolymer of acrylonitrile, butadiene and styrene. A stands for acrylonitrile, B stands for butadiene, and S stands for styrene. After actual use, it was found that: ABS plastic pipes are not resistant to sulfuric acid corrosion, and smashed and cracked when encountered with sulfuric acid.

Conventional performance

Plastic ABS is non-toxic and tasteless, and its appearance is ivory translucent, or transparent granular or powdery. The density is 1.05~1.18g/cm3, the shrinkage rate is 0.4%~0.9%, the modulus of elasticity is 0.2Gpa, the Poisson's ratio is 0.394, and the hygroscopicity is <1 217="" 237="">250℃.

Mechanical properties

Plastic ABS has excellent mechanical properties, its impact strength is excellent, and it can be used at extremely low temperatures; plastic ABS has excellent wear resistance, good dimensional stability, and oil resistance, and can be used for medium loads and low speeds. Bearing. The creep resistance of ABS is larger than PSF and PC, but smaller than PA and POM.

Thermal performance

The heat distortion temperature of plastic ABS is 93~118℃, and the product can be increased by about 10℃ after annealing. ABS can still show a certain degree of toughness at -40℃, and can be used in the temperature range of -40~100℃.

Electrical performance

Plastic ABS has good electrical insulation and is hardly affected by temperature, humidity and frequency, and can be used in most environments.

Environmental performance

Plastic ABS is not affected by water, inorganic salts, alkalis and many kinds of acids, but it is soluble in ketones, aldehydes and chlorinated hydrocarbons, and will cause stress cracking when corroded by glacial acetic acid and vegetable oil. ABS has poor weather resistance and is prone to degradation under the action of ultraviolet light; after half a year outdoors, the impact strength is reduced by half.

Molding

Plastic ABS can also be said to be a modification of polystyrene. It has higher impact strength and better mechanical strength than HIPS, and has good processing properties. It can be injected with plastic molding equipment such as injection molding machines and extruders. Extrusion, blow molding, calendering, lamination, foaming, thermoforming, welding, coating, electroplating and machining are also possible. The water absorption of ABS is relatively high. It needs to be dried before processing. The drying temperature is 70~85℃ and the drying time is 2~6h. ABS products are prone to internal stress during processing. If the stress is too large, the product will crack. For annealing treatment, put the parts in a 70-80℃ hot air circulating drying box for 2 to 4 hours, and then cool to room temperature.

Extrusion process

Squeeze out. Plastic ABS produces pipes, plates, sheets, and profiles and other products. Pipes can be used for various water pipes, air pipes, lubricants and fuel oil delivery pipes; plates and sheets can be used for floors, furniture, pools, filters, walls Interlayer and thermoforming or vacuum forming. The screw length-to-diameter ratio of the extruder is usually relatively high, L/D is between 18-22, and the compression ratio is (2.5-3.0): 1. It is suitable to use a gradual screw with torpedo head. The barrel temperature is: hopper 150~160℃, 180~190℃ for the front of the barrel, 185~195℃ for the die temperature, 180~200℃ for the mould, and the blow molding temperature can be controlled between 140~180℃.
